Three sector leaders join EDA Data Services Board to oversee drive to revolutionise product data

April 28, 2022

Richard Baxter of Edmundson Electrical Ltd, Ian Hunter of Electrium Sales, and Richard Moyes of Prysmian Cables & Systems Ltd have been voted onto the EDA Data Services Board recently and will each serve a two-year term.

Rexel UK Ltd’s CEO, Edgar Aponte, is chair of the EDA Data Services Board, overseeing the growth and development of EDATA, the ‘by the industry for the industry’ data pool.

EDATA is growing rapidly, with 50+ leading manufacturers signed up to pool their data for use by the supply chain. EDATA’s focus is to give wholesalers access to high quality product to use in every aspect of their business: displaying accurate images on a quote, driving general business systems (usually referred to as Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP systems), creating catalogues, and for answering customer queries at all stages in the sales process. Use of the data from the EDATA data pool will increase quality, reduce errors, save time and money, and lead to better user and customer service.

The new board members will serve for a period of two years alongside:

  • Margaret Fitzsimons, EDA CEO
  • Richard Appleton, General Manager of EDA Data Services
  • Michael Wright, Product Development Manager, Aico Ltd

Schneider’s George Brickwood and R & M Electrical Group’s Richard Sherin have stepped down from the Board having served their full two-year terms.
