Millie Taylor
Web Sales Assistant Manager
LED Electrical Ltd, part of the ANEW buying group
Millie

Before joining LED Electrical, Millie worked in retail and customer service roles but had little knowledge of the electrical wholesaling sector.“I joined LED Electrical after seeing a Facebook ad about the job, which a family member had shared with me,” says Millie. “I emailed my CV and was invited for an interview.”

In her role as Web Sales Assistant Manager, Millie oversees the order fulfilment process, ensuring that all web orders are processed promptly for next-day delivery.

“The attraction of the job was working with online sales and providing customer service and support. The working hours – Monday to Friday – were another draw for me, as my previous jobs meant weekend working,” says Millie.

Since joining LED Electrical, Millie has developed professionally and grown in confidence.

“The electrical wholesale sector is fast-paced and full of opportunities for career progression. There are so many roles available, from sales and web sales to warehouse positions. There are also plenty of learning resources available, so there’s no need to worry about not having prior experience.” she says.

My career so far
Haroldas Tamulis
Purchasing Assistant
BEW Electrical Distributors, part of the Fegime UK buying group
Haroldas-6

Purchasing Assistant Haroldas Tamulis joined BEW Electrical Distributors as a Level 2 Business Administration apprentice. With 23 branches across London, the Home Counties and the Midlands, the company offered plenty of scope for learning and development.

“I didn’t know anything about electrical wholesaling before joining but quickly learnt that it is not just about bulbs and sockets,” says Haroldas.

Having worked for the company for six years, Haroldas has consistently looked for ways to expand his knowledge and skills. During that time, he volunteered for several development opportunities, including completing the EDA’s 12 Product Knowledge Modules to gain a deeper understanding of the products the branch buys and sells to customers.

He now oversees all purchasing for his branch, manages customer returns, takes responsibility for the branch’s safety equipment, and supports the warehouse team when needed.

“There is so much going on in the industry and much more to it than meets the eye. I also work with a great team which I enjoy,” he says. With a clear progression path in the organisation, Haroldas is aiming for a role as Regional Purchasing Manager.

“The electrical wholesaling industry has a position for everyone – from sales to purchasing to warehousing or driving, and there are plenty of opportunities to progress up the career ladder,” he says.

Once she started, she knew she had found her career.

Today, as a Business Development Manager at AT&T (GB) Ltd, Savana drives growth through lead generation and strong client relationships. She finds fulfilment in turning cold leads into long-term partnerships and sees the sector as a perfect match for her skills and ambition.

Highly motivated, hardworking and with a desire to see the sector evolve, Savana is especially excited by the growth of sustainability and smart technologies. Now, her goal is to help shape the future of electrical wholesale and inspire the next generation to join the sector.
