Save on Employers’ National Insurance

• The 15% Employers’ National Insurance cost for those earning over £5,000 per year is abolished for Apprentices under 25 years old.
• This saves an average of £2,250 – £3,000 per employee.
• This applies to new starters and existing employees and the saving is materially less the cost of the EDA Apprenticeships Plus service.

The cost of training your apprentice now fully funded for SMEs and important changes for those paying the Apprenticeship Levy

• SME’s no longer pay any contribution towards the cost of training an apprentice.
• If your business pays the Apprenticeship Levy (any UK employer with a pay bill exceeding £3 million a year pays 0.5% of the total pay bill as an Apprenticeship Levy) there are changes you need to know about:

• • Employers can no longer carry over unused Apprenticeship Levy into the next tax year. In short, if have not spent your Apprenticeship Levy within 12 months you lose it.
  • We can show you how to take action by using the Levy Transfer Scheme and working with EDA Apprenticeships Plus to employ new recruits to your team.
  • Levy payers that use up their Levy completely in a tax year would typically be asked to pay a 25% contribution towards the cost of training an apprentices. We can show you how this will not apply to EDA Wholesalers using the EDA Apprenticeships Plus hosting service.
