Richard Appleton, Head of Digitalisation at the EDA will introduce the session, explaining how the latest technical developments in the EDATA data pool make it the perfect portal through which manufacturers can share their EPDs with their supply chain customers.
One Click LCA’s Martin McGrenaghan will explain why demand for EPDs is rising, driven by procurement requirements, green building certifications such as BREEAM, and growing pressure across the supply chain for verified carbon data.
The session will cover the fundamentals of EPDs: what they are, the standards behind them (including EN 15804), and how they differ from other sustainability claims. Martin will walk through the practical steps of creating an EPD, from data collection to third-party verification, and what manufacturers need in place before starting the process.
By attending this session, you will understand whether your products need an EPD, what buyers expect to see, and how to plan a realistic path to creating one.
