Landlord Safety Checks & 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Landlord Safety Checks & 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – What wholesalers need to know

Dave Forrester, Head of Technical Services at SELECT will cover two areas in his presentation.

  1. On 1 December 2015 the Scottish government introduced legislation compelling private landlords to undertake electrical safety checks. Landlords had until 1 December 2016 to ensure that all their properties complied. What effect is this new check likely to have on the wholesaler?
  2. The 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) is due out in mid-2018, but what’s changing? From a new section on energy efficiency to surge protective devices, Dave will share his knowledge on what’s in the draft and the likely impact on the wholesaler.
