Presentations from Regional Business Forum

A big thank you to everyone who attended our first EDA Regional Business Forum of 2016, on Thursday 19 May at the Glynhill Hotel, Renfrew, Glasgow.

It was a very well attended Forum, and a fantastic afternoon of networking was had by all.

A great mix of wholesalers and manufacturers listened to four presentations from Kidde, Select, Legrand as well as an education and training update from the EDA.

Kidde Safety Ltd – Carbon monoxide alarm – curbing the silent killer

Freddie Collins, Sales & Marketing Director, and Alan Dick, National Sales Manager discussed Carbon Monoxide – what is it, how it affects us, and the importance of having Carbon Monoxide Alarms in our homes and the relevance of this for wholesalers.

Legrand – the IoT – the future of electrical and digital building infrastructures

Richard Hayward, Lead Marketing Manager, Wiring Devices Business Unit from Legrand Electric Ltd, spoke about why the traditional electrical distribution channel is vital in keeping the electrical backbone alive in this rapidly expanding market.

Select – Great Expectations – electrical installers’ views on their supply chain

Newell McGuiness, Managing Director of SELECT, the Trade Association for the electro technical industry in Scotland. Newell gave an overview about SELECT, along with issues they are currently facing. Mainly, he provided feedback and data on a recent survey conducted by SELECT, which gauged the expectations of electrical installers in what they want or need from manufacturers/distributors.
