An exciting opportunity has arisen for a customer-focussed individual with a passion for product data to play a key role in an industry initiative to help digitalise the UK electro-technical supply chain.
The Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA) is the trade association representing electrical wholesalers and affiliated manufacturers in the UK.
Since 2017 a major focus of the EDA has been on facilitating digitalisation within the sector, specifically the change to e-commerce or multi-channel sales processes. As a first step, the EDA has successfully introduced the international ETIM classification standard for technical product data into the UK. It is now developing a UK “product data pool”, EDATA, to provide a central resource of rich, standardised manufacturers’ product data for use by wholesalers in their web sites and digital business processes.
We seek a talented individual to join our small team to assist with further development and implementation of these initiatives. This is a new role reporting to the Technical Director of EDA’s Data Services Division.
As the Onboarding Manager, you’ll provide a high level of support to manufacturers looking to participate in EDATA.
You will run onboarding workshops, audit manufacturer product data, plan and manage onboarding projects and create a plan to support ongoing data maintenance.
Specifically, you will:
– Communicate the data that manufacturers will need to provide
– Liaise with each manufacturer to create an ongoing data maintenance plan
– Import product data into EDATA and show manufacturers how to import their own data
– Help to manage the ETIM standard in the UK electro-technical sector (full training will be provided)
– Process Requests for Change (RFCs) with ETIM
– Provide first line support to EDATA users and ETIM UK members
As part of your role, you will be required to travel regularly in the UK and frequently stay away overnight (for an average of one night per week).
You will need be free to travel regularly in the UK with frequent overnight stays (average 1 night per week).
The role may be based in EDA’s London office or home-based. In the latter case you will be required to attend the EDA’s London office regularly, typically once a week or fortnight, depending on circumstances.
If you are interested in this role, please send a CV with a covering letter to Richard Appleton, General Manager EDA Data Services.
