So far in 2021, we have welcomed 9 new manufacturers into EDATA (on the right) taking the number of manufacturers part of the EDATA project up to 39 (a full list can be found here). From these 39 manufacturers, 21 are already live in the system, with a few more coming in quite soon.
The data journey can be very different for each manufacturer and joined EDATA at the very early stages of their data/PIM projects. In a few cases, the EDATA project was the catalyst for larger, company-wide, data projects, as companies realised that now is the time to push forward on their digitalisation roadmaps.
On the other hand, there are some manufacturers who join EDATA with their product information formatted and ready to go, as was the case with Securi-Flex, who could submit most of the master data for all their products from day 1 and are now working towards submitting the asset and ETIM files for their full catalogue of products.
Since the beginning of the year we have held a total of 27, virtual, manufacturer meetings, with many more hours spent reviewing data, providing gap analysis and offering feedback to the EDATA members. There have been a total of 34 data submissions received so far in 2021 as we work with manufacturers on improving their data ready for its import into EDATA and eventually its use throughout the electrotechnical supply chain.
