EDA ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER 2014

March 20, 2014

Thank you to all of those that came along to our Annual Awards Dinner last week. We think you’ll agree it was the biggest and best yet!

The atmosphere was electric (rather appropriately), with the sound of colleagues and friends catching up, filling the ballroom.

An impressive 557 covers were served during the evening. And following a generous raffle prize, kindly donated by Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (a table at Old Trafford for a game of the winner’s choosing), we managed to raise £5345 for the Electrical Industries Charity, formerly known as the EEIBA.

Tom Jones, MD of Lockwell and Vice President of the EDA Board did a sterling job presenting this year’s training awards, along with Colin Gordon (Head of MOL) and Michelle McCutcheon (coordinator of the EDA’s apprenticeship agency). It’s great to see all the learners being recognised for all their hard work on their various qualifications. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE PHOTOS

We welcomed Simon Barkes, MD of BEMCO as the new EDA President, and were delighted that Mike Southgate, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell EMEA attended as our guest speaker.

The entertainment continued in to the evening with entertainment by comedian Gary Marshall, followed by live music from Neil McDonald.

We hope you’ll be able to join us in 2015 for another great evening. And for those of you that haven’t been along, this is just a snippet of the feedback received so far…

“I just wanted to say a big thank you for an excellent night on a great table at last night’s dinner. The work that goes on behind the scenes is appreciated” Steve Cowell

“Many thanks for another superb night last Thursday , with your team , you both put so much effort into making sure the evening goes without a hitch” Peter Reid – Copper Cable Company

“Well done, Team TW, you made it the best yet. I have been going to The Dinner for nearly 60 years, and that beats them all. Full marks for presentation, execution and entertainment. It was a pleasure to be there. Thanks!” Mike Beswetherick – former EDA President
