The British Cables Association (BCA) has created guides to the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) & Cables.
Edition 2 (issued in July 2019) of the guides are available and there are 2 versions: one for Wholesalers/Distributors and another for Specifiers. This link will take you to the British Cables Association website where you can download the guides.
Distributors/wholesalers who consider, or have reason to believe, that a construction product is not in conformity with the Declaration of Performance (DoP) – you can find an example of a DoP in the BCA’s guidance documents – or not in compliance with other applicable requirements in the Regulation, then they should not make the product available on the market until it conforms or until the DoP is corrected.
Where the product presents a risk, the distributor/wholesaler should inform the manufacturer/importer and the National Authority. More information on the UK’s National Authority with responsibility for CPR is available via this link.
You can email the Department via this link.
