EDA centenary for BEMCO 1919 – 2019

BEMCO – British Electrical and Manufacturing Company – joined the EDA 100 years ago. In celebration of their membership centenary Margaret Fitzsimons, EDA CEO, presented Simon Barkes, BEMCO MD and outgoing EDA President, with a commemorative plaque at the 2019 EDA Annual Awards Dinner (7 March).

During their 100 years as part of the EDA, three members of the Barkes family have served as EDA Presidents:
- 1974: Brian Barkes
- 1993-94: Geoffery Barkes
- 2013-15 and 2017-2019: Simon Barkes
