After five years of service on the EDA Board of Management, Holland House Co Ltd’s Chairman, Alan Dunnet, has stepped down.
Alan has taken the decision to relinquish is EDA Board post as he is also stepping back from his Glasgow-based business which is run by his sons and Joint Managing Directors, Alistair and Colin.
EDA CEO, Margaret Fitzsimons, said
“The departure of someone with Alan’s insight and experience of running one of the largest and oldest independent electrical wholesalers in the country is a real loss. But Alan brought so much more than business acumen to the board making the loss even greater.
“He will also be remembered for his magnificent bagpipe playing, his eloquent ‘Graces’ before meals, his sailing and skippering skills not to mention the fact that he is one of the nicest gentlemen any one could ever hope to meet. He will be sorely missed.”
At his last EDA Board meeting on Thursday 5 March 2020, Alan was presented with a silver photo frame in recognition of his contribution to the EDA. He is pictured above with Margaret Fitzsimons, EDA CEO, and CEF’s Chris Ashworth, EDA President, and below with the full EDA Board.
