Allied trade associations

The EDA works closely with allied industry associations on key issues. Close links with these industry partners are helped by the EDA’s location in the electrical industry hub at Rotherwick House near Tower Hill in London.

The Approved Cables Initiative (ACI) is an industry-wide working group, set up in 2010 to address the issue of unsafe, non-approved and non-conforming cable entering the UK market place.

AEW_Ireland

Representing all Electrical Wholesalers in the Republic of Ireland. The AEW is affiliated to the Electrical Industries Federation of Ireland (EIFI), the umbrella organisation for all sectors of the electrical industry in the Republic of Ireland, including Manufacturers and Distributors (EMDA), Electrical Contractors (ECA, NECI and AECI), the Lighting Association of Ireland (LAI), the AEW and the Irish Electrical Benevolent Association (IEBA).

The AEW has around 130 members including Kellihers, Edmundson/EWL Electric, CEF, Fegime, the Irish Electrical Buying Group (IEBG), and a number of independent electrical wholesalers.

BEAMA

BEAMA is the UK trade association for manufacturers and providers of energy infrastructure technologies and systems.

Cable Makers UK Limited (BCA), formerly British Cables Association

Cable Makers UK Limited (BCA), formerly British Cables Association, is the trade association for British manufacturers of insulated cables and wires and associated products, consisting of groups for energy cables, supertension cables, communication cables, cable accessories, and microduct systems.

BESA

The Building Engineering Services Association (formerly known as the HVCA) is the UK’s leading trade organisation for building engineering services contractors – representing the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings.

BMF Builders Merchants Federation

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) is the only organisation that represents and protects the interests of builders merchants, plumbing, heating, roofing, decorative and timber merchants and their suppliers in the UK and Ireland.

CPA

The EDA is a member of the Construction Products Association (CPA). The CPA represents and champions construction product manufacturers and suppliers.

ECA

The ECA represents and supports the interests of UK (excluding Scotland) businesses and organisations involved in electrotechnical and engineering services – design, installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and monitorin
