Apprentice jobs and video giving you the inside track on being an apprentice

Apprenticeships in electrical wholesale View large image

Launch your career in a sector that's worth £billions to the UK economy

The EDA is a trade association representing members in the UK's electrical wholesale and manufacturing sectors. As part of the UK's wider construction industry, the electrical supply chain is worth £billions to the UK economy.

Electricians, or electrical contactors, buy products from the wholesaler, usually via a trade counter. Maintaining good customer relationships is vital to the health of the business.

Our members are on the look out for talented employees to join their teams. There are many more opportunities than we have space to show here, so we've chosen just a few to give you an idea of the roles on offer.

Jess from Jack Hinton's in Wakefield (part of Edmundson Electrical Ltd) tells you what it's like to be an apprentice in the UK's electrical supply chain, and hear from her Manager, Stephen Mooney, on the benefits to his business.

Apprenticeships in England

All apprenticeship in opportunities in England are posted on the Government's National Apprenticeship Service website. You'll need to create an account, but it only takes a few minutes.

Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland

Modern Apprenticeships are listed on Skills Development Scotland's (SDS) webiste.  SDS is Scotlands national skills body. For any Modern Apprenticeship opportunities listed below, we've provided the link to the role so you can apply online.

Get in, get on

What's great about electrical wholesaling is that you can work your way right to the top - no doors are closed to you. Find out how Ryan Peryer at Devondale Electrical went from apprentice to Branch Manager by age 24.

An apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to earn a salary and gain a qualification too. You'll experience how the sector works and, if you work hard, promotion is well within your reach.

If you're ambitious and keen to get on, our members want to hear from you.

Part of our service to our members is an apprenticeship programme, designed to attract new talent to the sector. We do this through EDA Apprenticeships Plus (also known as EDA Learning & Development Ltd).

You? Friend? Family member?

If you, or someone you know, is looking for an apprenticeship here's a selection of the opportunities available within our member organisations which are closing soon.

No age barrier

As long as you are age 16 or over you can apply to be an apprentice. Contrary to popular belief, there is no upper age limit.
