The rapid change of lighting to LED lighting now allows light to be controlled so that it can provide Human Centric Lighting (HCL). This helps in Healthcare, Offices, Education and Industry, by mimicking true daylight to improve overall health and wellbeing of employees.

There is lot of chatter/noise on HCL, Tunable white, Circadian rhythm and this presentation will explain what it is, the research that supports it, its applications and why it could be an important revenue stream .Bruck Electronic GmbH (B.E.G.) is focused on providing innovative lighting control solutions for energy saving, comfort and security, with offices and agencies spanning the world.

3.00pm - 3.30pm: Protecting people, property and professional reputation

Presenter: Steve Currier, Country Sales Director, Eaton Electric Ltd

The provision of a safe and comfortable working environment is a vital obligation for the owners and manager of commercial buildings, not only to meet legal requirements but to protect people, property, continuity and reputation. However, this must be achieved against a backdrop of diverse risks including fire, terrorism and cyber-crime, as well as cost pressures and environmental responsibilities.

Achieving the best possible safety standards while staying within cost and energy constraints requires expert support from suppliers who know how to navigate a complicated landscape and strike the balance between competing priorities.

Lighting, for example, has a crucial role in supporting safety, wellbeing and productivity, but the quest for efficiency savings creates a temptation to seek cheaper solutions, which may be non-compliant, untested, unable to meet performance specifications and vulnerable to failure. In the case of emergency lighting, which provide essential guidance in the event of an evacuation, the consequences of failure can be fatal!

How then can an electrical business protect itself and have confidence that its supply base consists of trusted partners who can be relied on to provide a professional and ethical service?
