Scottish Function 2008
The Scottish Function is organised by EDA's Scottish Forum. It is an industry occasion centring around the autumn meeting of the Board of Management and it lasts for three days. It is an occasion for networking between senior figures in each sector of the industry during an enjoyable programme of golf and other social events.
This years function is being held between the 7 - 10 October 2008 at Cameron House Hotel, Loch Lomond. Further information will be sent to attendees at the beginning of September.
BUSINESS FORUM DATE ANNOUNCED - NOVEMBER 2008
The next EDA Business Forum will be held on Tuesday 18 November in Milton Keynes. The programme is being finalised and details will follow shortly.
24 JUNE 2008 - KNUTSFORD FORUM The last EDA Business Forum, held in Knutsford, allowed members and affiliates to catch up with the most recent developments with the Association’s Learning & Development Portfolio.
Presentations covered the following subjects;
• Mike Lawrence from Eaton - Changes to building regulations and future energy demands in non-domestic buildings
• David Ellis from Osram - Opportunities with innovative energy saving lamps and systems
• Kelly Butler of TEHVA - Profit opportunities and latest developments in the heating and ventilation sectors
Attendance at one of the Association’s Business Forums is a cost-effective way to catch up with the latest industry news, as well as your fellow members and affiliated manufacturers.
Thanks to all the members and affiliates who attended the Knutsofrd Business Forum and made it such a good morning, but especially to the presenters, Mike Lawrence (Eaton Electric), David Ellis (Osram), Kelly Butler (TEHVA), Bob Barlow (MOL) and Joanne Harris (Protocol Skills).

EDA Annual Dinner 2009
The EDA Annual Dinner for 2009 will be held at the Inter Continental Hotel on the corner of Park Lane, London, on Thursday 12 March 2009. Further details to follow.
EUEW General Assembly 2008/2009
The General Assembly of the European Union of Electrical Wholesalers was held in Berlin from 7 to 9 June.
The German federation put together a very interesting working programme and the Assembly was well attended.
The General Assembly is a great opportunity for EDA members to meet their wholesaling colleagues from 15 European countries, as well as all the major European manufacturers.
Details of the 2009 General Assembly, to be held in Italy between 4 - 6 June, will be circulated to members and affiliates as soon as they are available.
Summer Event 2008
The EDA Summer Event was held on Thursday 3 July 2008. The day begun with a trip up The Thames on the largest river cruiser, The Erasmus, with champagne and canapes. This was followed by a three-course lunch at Conran's Blue Print Cafe.
This was our most successful Summer Event yet with record numbers attending. It was a great day for networking between members and affiliated manafacturers and we have recieved excellent feedback from those who joined us.
The date for the 2009 Summer Event will be announced shortly.
